It was the second and last race in Croatia this season and all eyes were pointed towards Igor Tabak as he was the only Croatian driver left fighting for the title. Already during the free practice runs he has shown that he will be a guy to beat and continuing his good pace through the whole season he managed to finish as a top qualifier.
It was far from beeing a walk in the park for Tabak. Ferenc Cserep who showed last season that he has the skills by taking the win in Krško joined this year's championship for the first time and equaled his qualifying score to Tabaks, but Tabak managed to put a highest single run score. Matjaž Podboršek finished third which put him in TOP16 battle with his son Blaž Podoboršek, followed by two very talented drivers David Barle and Miloš Djordjević.
Starting the battles Igor Tabak went against his fellow countryman and rookie Marko Brdek, who caught the last train for the TOP16 and showed his potential fighting all the way to the last corner, but Tabak was just unstoppable. Zoltan Szanto had to go against his fellow countryman too and beat Ferenc Cserep for the GREAT8. Definitely one TOP16 battle to mention was father vs. son, where the younger Podboršek managed to pull a one more time, but just couldn't step up the pace to beat his
father later on.
Coming to GREAT8 crowds could witness the breath taking fight of the day, a final before final where Tabak clashed with young Miloš Djordjević, going into the one mor time runs where details were crucial and a slight correction forced Djordjević to straighten which meant Tabak was in FINAL4 with Uroš Berdajs, Zoltan Szanto and David Barle who blew his ticket to the finals good-bye by spinning out in battle with Szanto.
First run of the final round Szanto chasing Tabak and knocking him out on the entry. Broken halfshaft on Tabak’s car almost prevent him to do the second run, but his team showed some skills and in couple of minutes Tabak was ready to win his second race of the season and extending the lead in the championship standings.
