Raceland, Krško [SLO] - April 26, 2015 - Adria Drift Series kicked off into its debut season with Round 1 – THE KICK OFF. Full of crowd Raceland was the crime scene where Joe Hountondji with Team Driftbrothers Nissan S13 went down in the history of Adria Drift Series as its first winner.
Over 1.500 fans experienced the action and excitement at the Raceland track with the drift battles, Show’n’Shine, RC drifters and the full show program. There was 18 drift competitors from Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Austria, Germany and Italy. In RC drift there was also international participation as well. During battles on both tracks visitors could also admire 68 modified cars that were shining and competing for the Show’n’Shine awards.
“Our very first race couldn’t started the 2015 season better,” said Drey, General Manager of the Adria Drift Series. “We worked so hard for the last 8 months just to make this happen and we are really proud and pleased with the work of our team and we think all the competitors and the crowds were satisfied with the event too.”
After a long night before the race, Team Driftbrothers were trying to fix the Joe Hountondjis power steering on his Nissan LS3 powered S13. They succeeded and Joe had it all from the Qualification rounds till the end. Team Driftbrothers Elias Hountondji the younger brother of Joe Hountondji was also doing his job very well with his LS3 powered BMW E30, but just wasn’t good enough to beat his brother in the final round. The battle for third and fourth place was also tight between Ivo Znaor from BMW Club Imotski in his BMW E36 M3 GTR and Igor Tabak in his Tabak Team BMW E36 turbo. Very clean fight to a “one more time”, but Igor Tabak was better and finished on third position. A special, Avtomagazin award, went into the hands of Miro Zrnčević (Mrgud) for the moment of the race.
