Autoprevoz, Čačak [SRB] – May 31, 2015 – Adria Drift Series came to Čačak for spectacular Round 2 – THE SHOWDOWN. Croatian drifter Marko Brkljačić in the Tokić Racing BMW E36 turbo takes the victory in his first race of the Adria Drift Series season.
Round 2 – THE SHOWDOWN was packed with a spectacular crowd that spiced up a great atmosphere in iconic Čačak. More than 4.000 spectators were a witness of a superb driving skills and some tight battle runs on the track between 23 drifters coming from Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia, Bulgaria and Greece. Off the track 54 Show’n’Shine cars shined in the perfect summer like weather. Between the brakes there was also a lot of action of the local stunt drivers on bikes.
“The atmosphere here in Čačak is incredible, the season couldn’t go on better” said Drey, General Manager of the Adria Drift Series. “A traditional track well known by most of the competitors made battles more tight and we can also expect that on 14th June in Zagreb for Round3.“ Adria Drift Series event manager Aleksandar Jokić added “with Adria Drift Series in Čačak we just raised drifting scene in Serbia on a whole new level.”
The Final Four shootouts were a challenge for all four competitors. Marko Brkljačić had some unfinished business on track with Slovene Uroš Berdajs from Berdajs Drift Team in BMW E36 Compact, from whom he lost last year's SDC. This time Brkljačić was better and continued to the finals where he went head to head with Greek Anastasios Charkas from Charkas Drift Crew in BMW E30. Great challenge for both drivers as their battles were too close to determine a definitive winner by the judges, leading to a multiple one more time battles. During their third battle Brkljačić has squeezed out just a little bit more then Charkas and took the victory. “It has always been nice to compete here in Čačak, but this year even more, because of this new Adria Drift Series. I’m very happy with the victory because the competition was so tight today,” said Marko Brkljačić, winner of Round 2 – THE SHOWDOWN.
