Adria Drift Series 2015 RD5: THE TERMINAL Results

Ljubljana [SLO] – October 12, 2015 – the capital of Slovenia was the host of the last Adria Drift Series Round 5 – THE TERMINAL, where Slovenian drifter Uroš Berdajs took his second, consecutive victory in his BMW E36 compact and went down in history books as the first ever Adria Drift Series Champion!

Round 5 – THE TERMINAL took place in Ljubljana’s Container Terminal. First time this season the competition was running in wet conditions, but for all the 17 drivers coming from Austria, Italy, Slovenia and Croatia this was not such a tuff challenge as it looked like.

“At first it was quite a challenge bringing Adria Drift Series to Ljubljana, because of a lack of suitable locations, which almost equals none here. Everything went well with preparations even doe it was not easy, until the day of the event came and there was one problem after another, but we managed to bring event to the end. In one way I’m glad that we brought drift scene to Ljubljana, it’s definitely a step forward for the whole automotive scene in this region. But on the other I’m not happy because of the technical issues that prevent us to perform a spectacle as for the drivers as for the spectators on the level that it should be.” said Drey, General Manager of the Adria Drift Series. “I would also like to thank all the drifters that where with us this season, all the fans and supporters who believed in us and last but not least to our great organization team! Congratulations to Uroš and his team for the title and also Ivo for the runner-up title.”

Practice runs showed that Austrian Clemens Kauderer was the main runner, he did a brilliant job in qualifications and finished first, following him two Slovenians Uroš Berdajs (Berdajs Drift Team) and Miha Šuštaršič (GMŽ Drift Team). The second contender for the title Ivo Znaor (BMW Club Imotski) was fourth.

Due to technical issues on Cvetko’s (Driftpower) and Petač’s (TTS) car only 15 drivers proceeded to the TOP16 shootout. So Kauderer automatically proceeded to GREAT8. Berdajs again had some difficulties procceding to the next elimination rounds as he hardly beaten Domagoj Begić (BBM) from Croatia. All top four qualifiers were conquering all the way to the FINAL4 shootout, Kauderer got Šuštaršič and Berdajs again went against Znaor. Both Kauderer and Berdjas proceeded to the finals. Than unfortunately a small screw broke on the throttle of Kauderer’s Corolla, so he had to forfeit from the competition. In battle for third place Šuštaršič had beaten Znaor.

Avto magazin moment of the race went into Ivo Znaor’s hands for a great overtake move on Slovenian drifter Štefan Ozimek (BMW Drift Dalenc).
